Meet The Team:
Lauren Muller

Get to know Lauren Muller, a member of our full body and prop scan processing team from South Africa. Lauren is a Senior 3D Artist whose main focus is Dorothy wrapping and map generation. She also works on scan cleanup, helps to keep all of our internal training and procedure documentation up to date and, as it turns out, she’s a dab hand with a paint brush.
1. What’s your name, where are you from, and where are you now?
I’m Lauren Muller, I’m from South Africa and still live here currently.
2. What do you do at Clear Angle Studios?
I’m a 3D artist in the Fullbody and Prop processing team. My main role is to create photoscanned 3D models and clean them up, but I also do quality assurance on scans before they leave the processing team and recently was handed the responsibility of writing pipeline documents for our website.
3. What do you like most about working here?
Overall, it’s pretty exciting to be working on all the big productions that are coming out, and getting to be apart of the behind the scenes of how they’re made. But other than that I would have to say the team here at Clear Angle are a big part of why I love working here. I’ve never felt so at home in a workplace before and everyone I interact with on a daily basis is cheerful and dedicated to our work. It’s very encouraging.
4. What’s the best project you’ve worked on?
I’d have to say Alien Romulus. I’ve been a big fan of the Alien and Alien vs Predator movies since I was a child, so getting to work on one of the films was a very exciting opportunity for me.
5. What’s one piece of kit of a piece of software that makes your job better?
Since we do 3D sculpting here and there on certain scans, I’ve never appreciated my little Wacom tablet more. I got the Wacom Intuos Pen Tablet as a gift about 8 years ago and it’s still going strong to this day.
6. Give us a recommendation for something you like.
I like to game on my PC in my free time, so if you haven’t played the Bioshock games or Subnautica, I would definitely recommend buying them, they were great fun to play. I’m also chomping at the bit for the next season of Arcane to come out, so would highly recommend the first season to anyone who’s looking for a good animated series to watch.
All photos by Lauren Muller. Cheers Lauren!
